CHERRY XTRFY has unveiled the K5 Pro TMR Compact, an updated version of its popular K5 gaming keyboard. The new model combines CHERRY MK Crystal Magnetic switches with Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensing technology, offering precise input and faster response times in a compact 65% layout. According to Joakim Jansson, Director of Product Management at CHERRY, the keyboard is designed to provide higher accuracy and faster response for gamers, while allowing full customization for every keystroke.

The TMR technology at the core of the K5 Pro TMR Compact measures very small changes in the magnetic field, enabling sensitivity down to 0.01 mm. This precision allows gamers to react quickly and accurately during gameplay. Using CHERRY’s MagCrate software, users can adjust actuation points and assign multiple functions to individual keys, making the keyboard suitable for different gaming styles and workflows.

The K5 Pro TMR Compact supports an 8000 Hz polling rate, sending signals to the PC up to eight times per millisecond. Combined with the contactless TMR switches, this provides stable input with minimal latency, which is critical for competitive gaming. The keyboard also supports hot-swappable magnetic switches, so users can replace them easily without soldering.

In addition to performance, the keyboard is designed with build quality in mind. A full-metal plate construction, multi-layer damping, and pre-lubricated PCB-mounted stabilizers provide smooth, quiet keypresses. The compact 65% layout allows for wider mouse movement and cleaner desk setups, while the ARGB lighting enhances the overall look with customizable colors and effects.
The CHERRY XTRFY K5 Pro TMR Compact is now available at a retail price of 149.99 Euros. With its combination of magnetic switches, fast polling, and customizable keys, it offers gamers a precise and responsive tool for competitive play and extended sessions.
