Keychron has expanded its lineup of Hall effect gaming keyboards with the introduction of the Keychron C0 HE 8K. The new keyboard is designed as a compact, left-handed gaming controller and arrives as a more affordable entry in the company’s HE 8K series. According to the announcement, the keyboard will launch at $59.99 through Keychron’s official online store and Amazon.

The C0 HE 8K follows several recent releases built around analog magnetic switches and high polling rates. Unlike some of Keychron’s premium keyboards, this model focuses on a simpler design and wired-only connectivity. Even so, it keeps many of the features found in the company’s recent Hall effect keyboards, including adjustable actuation and advanced input controls. The keyboard features a 35-key layout, covering the left portion of a traditional keyboard. It includes the number row and function row, allowing players to map additional commands while keeping movement and ability keys close together.
Keychron built the chassis using ABS plastic, paired with an aluminum plate and a tray-mount structure. The keyboard also uses double-shot shine-through ABS keycaps in the OEM profile, a common format used in many gaming keyboards. This layout and keycap profile should feel familiar to players who already use standard desktop keyboards. The C0 HE 8K uses Keychron Ultra‑Fast Magnetic Lime Switches based on Hall effect technology. These switches rely on magnetic sensors instead of traditional metal contacts. As a result, actuation points can be adjusted through software rather than being fixed.

Keychron lists the switches with 25 g actuation force and 3.35 mm total travel. The switches are built with an all-POM structure, which is commonly used to reduce friction during key presses. Users can customize input behavior through Keychron Launcher. The software supports several advanced options often used in competitive gaming. These include adjustable actuation distance, Rapid Trigger functionality, SOCD control, Dynamic Keystrokes, and Mod Tap customization.
The keyboard includes several design changes aimed at comfort during longer sessions. One of the more noticeable features is an angled space bar, which Keychron says follows the natural curve of the fingers when pressing the key. The device also integrates a silicone palm rest, allowing the wrist to rest on a softer surface during gameplay. The overall design uses sharp edges and an angular shape that fits the gaming-focused styling used in many modern peripherals.

While the C0 HE 8K is mainly aimed at PC gamers, Keychron also suggests the device can be used as a programmable input pad for other tasks. Content creators and editors can map shortcuts or macros to the keys, turning the keyboard into a compact control surface for software workflows. With its lower price and compact design, the C0 HE 8K adds another option to the growing category of one-handed Hall effect keyboards, giving players access to adjustable magnetic switches without the higher cost seen in some enthusiast models.
