Tripwire Presents and developer Arctic Hazard have officially released NORSE: Oath of Blood on Windows PC. The Viking-themed turn-based tactics title is now available through Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. The standard digital edition is priced at $34.99, while a Special Edition is available for $44.99, including the in-game Kievan War armor set and a unique Ulfberht sword. Both editions are currently discounted by 15 percent across all storefronts through February 24 as part of a publisher promotion.
Console players will need to wait a little longer. Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are in development and scheduled to launch later this Spring.
NORSE: Oath of Blood is set in Dark Age Norway and follows the story of Gunnar, a young warrior seeking revenge after Steinarr Far-Spear murders his father, Jarl Gripr, and takes control of his high seat. The campaign revolves around rebuilding a fractured legacy while navigating alliances, rival clans, and political tensions. The narrative places a strong focus on personal loyalty and leadership, tying story progression to the player’s decisions both on and off the battlefield.
Gameplay combines settlement management with tactical, turn-based combat. Players construct and expand their settlement, recruit warriors, and prepare their warband for encounters against hostile forces. Each battle emphasizes positioning, terrain awareness, and the effective use of individual unit abilities. Squad composition and equipment choices influence how engagements unfold, rewarding careful planning over brute force.
According to Arctic Hazard CEO and Creative Director Terje Lundberg, the team plans to continue supporting the game following launch. Tripwire Presents Publishing Director Bryan West also noted that the project aims to deliver a Viking-era strategy experience grounded in tactical depth and world-building.
With its PC debut now live and console versions on the horizon, NORSE: Oath of Blood enters the strategy space with a focus on historical themes and measured, turn-based gameplay.
