NYXI Introduced Hyperion 3 Controller For Nintendo Switch 2 With Ergonomic Controls and Hall-Effect Sticks

NYXI has announced the Hyperion 3, a new JoyPad designed for Nintendo Switch 2 users who spend long hours playing in handheld mode. The controller is built to replace the compact Joy-Cons with a larger, more traditional layout that focuses on comfort and durability rather than portability.

The Hyperion 3 attaches directly to the Switch 2, turning the handheld into a single, solid unit. Full-size grips give players more space to rest their hands, reducing the strain that often shows up during extended sessions in RPGs, racing games, or action titles. NYXI says the controller can also be used wirelessly when the console is docked, allowing it to double as a standard gamepad.

Hall-effect joysticks replace traditional analog mechanisms, using magnetic sensors to eliminate the physical contact that often leads to stick drift over time. This design choice directly addresses one of the most common long-term issues with game controllers, especially for users familiar with drifting Joy-Cons. Alongside the new sticks, the controller features larger buttons with wider spacing, bringing the layout closer to that of a full-size gamepad and improving overall comfort during extended play sessions.

The Hyperion 3 also features micro-switch face buttons and a redesigned D-pad. Both provide a firmer click, which can help with precise inputs in genres that depend on timing and directional accuracy. A built-in 9-axis gyroscope supports motion controls for aiming and steering, keeping compatibility with games that rely on tilt input.

On the back, programmable buttons allow users to remap common actions like jumping or reloading. This layout keeps thumbs on the analog sticks more often, which can make longer play sessions feel less tiring.

While the added grips make the Switch 2 less compact, NYXI is clearly aiming at players who use the system as a primary console. The Hyperion 3 reflects a shift toward more controller-focused accessories for Nintendo’s hybrid hardware.
