Nubia has officially announced the launch date of its upcoming gaming smartphone, the REDMAGIC 11 Air. The device is set to debut in China on January 20 at 3:00 PM local time. Alongside the announcement, the company has released teaser material that outlines the phone’s design approach and hardware focus, suggesting that the REDMAGIC 11 Air is positioned differently from previous “Air” branded smartphones.

According to Nubia, the REDMAGIC 11 Air will be introduced as a performance-focused flagship rather than a slimmed-down variant. One of the key design changes is the use of a true full-screen display with no visible notch or punch-hole. This is achieved through a 16-megapixel under-display front camera, allowing the front panel to remain uninterrupted. The phone also features a fully transparent design across the lineup, offering a clear view of internal components, a visual element that has become part of the REDMAGIC identity.

Gaming-specific hardware remains central to the REDMAGIC 11 Air. Nubia has confirmed the inclusion of physical shoulder triggers designed to provide more precise input during gameplay. The device also integrates the company’s Cube gaming engine, a self-developed Red Core R4 esports chip, and a built-in PC emulator. These features are aimed at improving game compatibility, system optimization, and control accuracy.
Thermal management is another major focus. The REDMAGIC 11 Air uses an active cooling system that combines a high-speed internal fan with an ultra-thick 4D Ice-Step vapor chamber. Nubia states that this setup is intended to manage heat more effectively during sustained gaming sessions, particularly when running demanding titles for extended periods.

Despite the internal cooling hardware, the phone maintains a slim profile. Nubia claims the REDMAGIC 11 Air measures 7.85mm in thickness and houses the largest battery ever used in an Air-series device. While the brand has not yet disclosed the exact advertised capacity, certification data provides more detail.
The REDMAGIC 11 Air appeared on China’s TENAA certification database in November 2025 under the model number NX799J. The listing revealed a 6.85-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1216 × 2688 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also confirmed a rated battery capacity of 6,780mAh, which typically translates to an advertised capacity of around 7,000mAh.

TENAA information further suggests that the device will be offered in multiple configurations, with memory options going up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. The base variant is expected to start with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Camera specifications listed include a 50-megapixel primary rear camera paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor.
Although the chipset name was not mentioned in the TENAA listing, the REDMAGIC 11 Air was recently spotted on Geekbench with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Nubia is expected to reveal full specifications, pricing, and availability details during the official launch event later this month.
