Keychron revealed its latest peripheral, the Nape Pro trackball, during CES 2026. Designed to complement Keychronkeyboards, the Nape Pro uses ZMK open-source firmware, allowing users to configure buttons and functions according to their preferences. The trackball adopts a unique elongated layout, featuring a 25mm central ball and six buttons on each side. Two buttons serve as left and right mouse buttons by default, while the remaining keys can be customized via the Keychron Launcher web client.

The trackball employs Huano silent microswitches, which provide a crisp response similar to the Keychron M6 8K mouse. While the switch lifespan is slightly lower than some competing devices, it delivers reliable tactile feedback without feeling overly soft. Equipped with a PixArt 3222 sensor, the Nape Pro supports precise tracking with a 1kHz polling rate in 2.4G mode. It also includes a 200mAh battery capable of lasting up to 50 hours on a single charge.

The Nape Pro features an elongated design that lets users position it on either the left or right side of a keyboard, making it easier for those used to a traditional mouse to transition. The trackball can also be placed horizontally beneath the keyboard, allowing the thumb to handle cursor movement and clicks. A rotating ring around the ball provides smooth scrolling for long documents or web pages.

The Nape Pro is scheduled to launch internationally between April and May 2026. It will be available through the CoStory crowdfunding platform for 21,648 yen. With its combination of flexible positioning, customizable controls, and open-source firmware support, the trackball aims to provide users with a versatile alternative to standard mice for both work and casual computing.
