GameMT Introduces EX5 Handheld Console With Helio G81 Chip and 5-Inch 1080p IPS Display

GameMT has announced the launch of the EX5 handheld console, expanding its lineup of portable gaming devices with an entry-level Android-based model. The EX5 is designed for casual gaming and emulator use, featuring a layout and overall shape that closely resemble Sony’s PS Vita. The device will be available in three color options, including white, black, and dark blue.

The GameMT EX5 runs on the MediaTek Helio G81 processor, manufactured using a 12nm process. It features a dual-core Cortex-A75 setup paired with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, alongside a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. The system is backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In terms of raw performance, this configuration aligns closely with entry-level smartphones such as the Xiaomi Redmi 15C and Poco C85. This suggests the EX5 should cope well with lightweight Android games and classic console emulation, though more demanding titles are likely to push the limits of the chipset.

The handheld also comes with a 5-inch IPS LCD display running at a 1080p resolution. A screen of this resolution is relatively uncommon in this segment, particularly on devices powered by entry-level hardware. The higher pixel density should translate into crisp visuals for retro titles and general media use, but real-world results will still depend on software optimization and the performance demands of individual games.

The EX5 runs on the Android operating system, allowing users to install games, apps, and emulators without restrictions. In terms of controls, the console follows a familiar handheld layout, but replaces the traditional right analog stick with a knob-like control. This component is expected to be used for switching between different performance or system modes, though official details have not yet been shared.

GameMT has not confirmed pricing or regional availability for the EX5. More information is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
