Sony Pictures VR and ARVORE Reveal The Boys: Trigger Warning VR Game for PS VR2 and Meta Quest 3 in 2026

Sony Pictures VR and Brazilian studio ARVORE have announced The Boys: Trigger Warning, the first full-scale video game based on the popular Amazon series. While characters from the show have appeared in titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Mortal Kombat 1, this is the first project dedicated entirely to the franchise. The game is set to launch in 2026 for PS VR2 and Meta Quest 3, expanding the universe into virtual reality.

The announcement trailer presents the game through a tense and atmospheric lens, positioning Homelander as a central threat. This approach mirrors the tone of the TV series, where superpowered characters exert influence without limits. In the trailer, Homelander appears as a figure the player must avoid, reinforcing the dangerous environment that defines the world of The Boys.

Instead of taking control of a familiar character, players step into the role of a new original figure created specifically for the game. The story begins with a family outing that unexpectedly exposes the player to one of Vought’s hidden operations, resulting in the development of powers. From there, the narrative follows the player’s path toward joining the Boys and preparing a response against Vought.

Several cast members from the show are part of the project. Laz Alonso returns as Mother’s Milk, Colby Minifie reprises her role as Ashley Barrett, and P.J. Byrne appears once again as Adam Bourke. Jensen Ackles is also featured, playing a version of Soldier Boy created uniquely for this VR title.

In a press statement, ARVORE founder Ricardo Justus shared that the studio worked closely with the series’s writers and performers to maintain the show’s tone and ensure the transition to VR remains consistent with the source material. ARVORE is known for the Pixel Ripped series and interactive VR experiences such as The Line, giving the studio a solid foundation for developing immersive games.

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s senior vice president of virtual reality, Lance Sloane, highlighted the partnership with Meta and PlayStation as an important factor in bringing the project to two major VR platforms. He noted that the involvement of the show’s creators helped shape the direction of the game.

The decision to create a VR-only title aligns with earlier comments from showrunner Eric Kripke, who mentioned that a game set in the universe was being produced but not designed for traditional consoles. The addition of a PS VR2 version suggests the project evolved beyond those initial remarks.

Some of the series’ leading cast members—such as Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, and Karen Fukuhara—are not currently confirmed for the game. Screenshots indicate that Billy Butcher appears in the story, but no confirmation has been given regarding who will voice him.

The Boys: Trigger Warning will arrive on PS VR2 and Meta Quest 3 in 2026. As the release approaches, more details may reveal how the game adapts the themes and world of the series for virtual reality.
