According to a recent announcement from 2K, the Free Ride update will be available starting November 20. The update introduces the Free Ride game mode, enabling players to explore the game’s 1900s Sicily at their own pace. While navigating the world, players can take on various challenges, with new content becoming available as they progress through the main campaign. Switching between the campaign and Free Ride mode is seamless, as the option appears directly in the pause menu. The mode also features hidden secrets that can be discovered by following in-game clues, rewarding players who thoroughly engage with the environment.
The update expands gameplay with both car and horse racing, giving players new ways to traverse Sicily. Players will also be able to experience first-person driving, offering a different perspective on exploration and racing. Alongside these additions, the update introduces a total of nine combat challenges at launch, including five standoffs and four assassination missions, each with its own rewards. These challenges are designed to test both strategy and combat skills.
For players seeking a more demanding experience, the Free Ride update adds a Classic difficulty setting. In this mode, enemies are more difficult to defeat, health recovery is slower, and unused bullets are lost when reloading. This setting provides a more intense experience for those familiar with the franchise and looking for an additional challenge.
The update also adds a range of new items and cosmetics. Players can access 16 new outfits, three hats, four knives, three guns, three charms, and two new vehicles. All of these additions are available in both the main campaign and Free Ride mode, giving players more ways to customize their character and gameplay experience.
