Sony Introduces New 27-Inch PlayStation Gaming Monitor with Built-In DualSense Charging Hook

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a new 27-inch gaming monitor designed for PlayStation users seeking a desktop gaming setup. The monitor combines visual clarity, connectivity, and convenience, offering players an additional option for enjoying PS5 games outside the traditional living room setting. This release complements the flexibility that players have come to expect from PlayStation, including gaming in personal spaces or remotely through PlayStation Portal.

The 27-inch gaming monitor features a Quad High Definition (QHD) IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) with Auto HDR Tone Mapping, which automatically adjusts HDR settings during setup on PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles. This ensures that colors are vivid and accurate, while bright and dark areas are rendered with clarity, providing an enhanced visual experience for both fast-paced and story-driven games.

The monitor is equipped with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support and offers refresh rates of up to 120 Hz when connected to a PS5 or PS5 Pro console. For PC and Mac users, the monitor supports refresh rates of up to 240 Hz, enabling smoother motion and reduced screen tearing during gameplay. These features make the monitor suitable for both competitive and casual gaming sessions, as well as multimedia use.

The monitor includes a built-in DualSense Charging Hook, enabling players to store and charge their DualSense or DualSense Edge wireless controllers (sold separately). This keeps the desktop area organized while ensuring controllers are always ready for gameplay. It also supports VESA mounting, letting users adjust their setup for the best viewing angles.

The monitor offers a range of connectivity options, including two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 port, ensuring compatibility with PS5, PCs, Macs, and other devices. Two USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port allow the use of PlayStation Link adapters and other peripherals. For audio, the monitor comes with built-in stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm audio output, supporting both gaming and everyday media needs.

Sony suggests pairing the new monitor with its Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, which provide desktop audio and voice chat capabilities. Together, the monitor and speakers aim to deliver a complete desktop gaming experience, balancing high-quality visuals with clear audio.

The PlayStation 27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook is scheduled to launch in 2026 in the U.S. and Japan. Sony will provide further details on pricing and availability closer to the release date, giving players an additional option for setting up a dedicated desktop gaming space.
