MAXSUN Launches Terminator B850 BKB Mini-ITX Motherboard with Rear PCIe 5.0 Slot for AMD Ryzen CPUs

MAXSUN has officially launched the Terminator B850 BKB motherboard in overseas markets. This new motherboard expands the company’s Mini-ITX series and is built for the AMD AM5 platform. It supports Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors, providing users with a compact yet capable option for small form factor systems.

The Terminator B850 BKB features the AMD B850 chipset and adopts a Mini-ITX layout. It includes two DDR5 memory slots with support for up to 96GB of RAM, ensuring compatibility with current high-performance memory modules. The board is also equipped with a PCIe 4.0 x4 expansion slot on the front, allowing users to connect additional devices such as capture cards or storage controllers.

The Terminator B850 BKB features a rear-mounted PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, placing the primary GPU connection on the back of the motherboard rather than the front. This layout enables vertical GPU installation without the need for a PCIe riser cable. MAXSUN states that this approach minimizes potential signal loss, improves internal airflow, and provides a cleaner look by freeing up space on the front side for better cable organization. The design also benefits compact PC builds, especially when paired with smaller cases like the Cooler Master MasterBox iF15.

The rear PCIe 5.0 x16 slot supports modern graphics cards, including the AMD Radeon RX 9000 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series. With the growing popularity of compact and vertically oriented PC builds, this approach provides users with a more efficient hardware arrangement while maintaining compatibility with the latest GPUs.

In terms of storage, the motherboard includes two M.2 slots and two SATA ports, offering flexibility for both NVMe and SATA-based drives. The built-in Wi-Fi module provides wireless connectivity options, while the board’s compact design still manages to include several key I/O ports. These include at least six USB-A interfaces, HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs, and three 3.5mm audio jacks for headset or speaker connections.

MAXSUN has not yet published complete details on the power delivery system, internal headers, or overall VRM design. Information about pricing and release dates is also expected soon. However, given its configuration and feature set, the Terminator B850 BKB appears aimed at users who prefer compact builds without compromising on modern connectivity or CPU and GPU support.

With its unique rear PCIe slot and AM5 compatibility, the MAXSUN Terminator B850 BKB provides a new direction for Mini-ITX motherboards, blending efficient design with next-generation hardware support. Further announcements regarding its market availability and pricing are anticipated in the coming days.
