505 Games and Supernova Games Studios, in partnership with KUNOS Simulazioni, have officially announced Assetto Corsa Rally, a new entry in the acclaimed Assetto Corsa franchise. The title marks the franchise’s first step into the world of rally racing, bringing the brand’s recognized realism and precision to a new motorsport discipline.
Developed by Supernova Games Studios—part of the Digital Bros Group—the project builds on the legacy of simulation established by Assetto Corsa. The team worked closely with KUNOS Simulazioni to adapt the driving physics to suit the dynamic and unpredictable nature of rally racing. The title is set to launch in Early Access on Steam on November 13, priced at £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99.
Assetto Corsa Rally introduces a refined version of the Assetto Corsa physics engine, specifically tuned for rally conditions. The system models changes in terrain, surface grip, and vehicle behavior in response to factors such as temperature, humidity, and weather. These conditions are not limited to visual representation; they actively influence handling and traction throughout each stage.
Rally stages have been created using laser scan technology, accurately capturing terrain details, surface irregularities, and environmental features. This approach ensures that every road section is represented with real-world precision, requiring drivers to adjust their techniques according to evolving conditions.
The development team utilized Unreal Engine 5, optimizing it for racing performance and visual consistency. The engine has been tailored to support detailed car models, advanced lighting, and realistic surface rendering. Each car is created using laser scans and CAD data, providing accurate geometry down to mechanical components.

The damage system combines physical and visual deformation, with collisions and wear directly affecting car performance. This system enhances both immersion and realism, encouraging players to manage their vehicles carefully throughout long rally stages.
Audio design has also been treated with precision. Engine sounds, gear shifts, and tire interactions are based on recordings from real cars, while co-driver pacenotes have been developed in collaboration with professional rally co-drivers.
At launch, Assetto Corsa Rally will include:
- 33 km of fully laser-scanned rally roads
- 4 Special Stages with 18 variations, set in Wales (gravel) and Alsace (tarmac)
- 10 vehicles covering Group B, WRC, and Rally2 classes
- 5 game modes, triple-screen support, and steering wheel compatibility
Throughout the Early Access period, the developers plan to expand content to include:
- Over 120 km of rally stages across five international locations
- 10 Special Stages with 35 variations
- 30+ vehicles from historic and modern rally categories
- A career mode, rally school, and full VR support
Supernova Studio Director Mauro Notarberardino stated that the idea for the game stemmed from the community’s long-standing desire for a modern rally simulator. He noted that the team built a foundation of new technology and expertise, supported by drivers, engineers, and industry professionals.

Marco Massarutto, Co-Founder of KUNOS Simulazioni, explained that rally racing’s time-based format allows the development team to dedicate system resources toward improving the driving model and tire behavior. This focus, he said, results in a “dedicated and genuine rally simulation” that maximizes the Assetto Corsa engine’s potential.
Assetto Corsa Rally will be presented at the SimRacing Expo in Dortmund from October 17 to 19, organized by South West Vision. Visitors can experience the title at various booths, including a main demonstration area hosted by FANATEC.
Michael Wamser, from South West Vision, emphasized KUNOS Simulazioni’s influence in shaping the sim racing scene and welcomed the continuation of their collaboration. Belma Nadarevic, Senior Director of Marketing at Fanatec, added that the event will allow players to experience Assetto Corsa Rally on Fanatec’s latest hardware lineup.

With the combination of advanced physics, real-world terrain data, and authentic audio-visual design, Assetto Corsa Rally aims to extend the franchise’s tradition of realism into a new motorsport genre. The Early Access launch this November marks the beginning of a new phase for one of sim racing’s most respected names.
