Amazon Japan briefly listed Nioh 3 with a release date of February 6, 2026, according to a report by X user Renka_schedule. The listing has since been removed, but the timing matches the previously announced early 2026 launch window. The release date also closely aligns with the anniversary of the series, as the original Nioh debuted on February 7, 2017.
The temporary store page revealed a Treasure Box edition, which includes several physical collectibles:
- B5-size official art book
- Selection soundtrack CD
- Original desk mat
- Sunekosuri fur ball key chain
Nioh 3 was first revealed during the June 2025 State of Play broadcast. The game is expected to be shown again at September’s State of Play, scheduled for today at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 11 PM CET. It will also feature in the Tokyo Game Show 2025 Official Program tomorrow at 8 PM JST. During this segment, General Producer Fumihiko Yasuda and Producer Shibata will present live gameplay with host Hatsune Matsushima. The session will include a boss battle in the “Heian Period” stage, showcasing combat with dual samurai swords and tonfa weapons.
The third entry introduces new features to the series. For the first time, players can switch between samurai and ninja combat styles during battle, adding flexibility to encounters. The game also shifts from the traditional linear mission structure to an open-field environment, designed to support broader exploration and dynamic progression.
In another departure from the release strategy of earlier titles, Nioh 3 will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and PC. Previous entries were initially exclusive to PlayStation platforms before arriving later on PC.
With the leaked release date, new gameplay features, and upcoming showcases at State of Play and TGS, Nioh 3 is shaping up to be a key release for early 2026. Further details are expected in the official presentations this week.
