Wreckreation, the upcoming open-world driving game developed by Three Fields Entertainment and published by THQ Nordic, finally has a release date. The studio announced that the game will launch worldwide on October 28, 2025, priced at $39.99/€39.99 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The title was first revealed back in 2022, marking Three Fields Entertainment’s most ambitious project to date. Founded by former Criterion Games developers, the studio carries a strong legacy in arcade-style racing, having previously worked on the acclaimed Burnout franchise. With Wreckreation, the team aims to merge high-speed racing with creative world-building in a way that allows players to construct and reshape their own environments.
At the heart of Wreckreation is its seamless track-building feature. Players can alter the world around them without leaving the driving experience. Roads, loops, ramps, decorations, and even environmental conditions such as time of day or weather can be changed instantly with the press of a button. This approach eliminates the traditional divide between editing modes and gameplay, making creation an active part of the racing experience.
The game world spans more than 400 square kilometers, offering a wide canvas for exploration and experimentation. Players will also have access to over 50 vehicles at launch, covering a range of driving styles. Combined with the real-time editing tools, these features allow for a wide variety of custom challenges, whether focused on high-speed tracks, obstacle-filled stunt courses, or scenic routes designed for casual driving.

THQ Nordic released a new trailer alongside the announcement, highlighting both the open landscapes and the creative tools available in the game. The footage showcases how players can shift from racing on pre-built tracks to instantly modifying layouts with new jumps, loops, or visual elements.
For Three Fields Entertainment, Wreckreation represents a continuation of its efforts to deliver arcade racing experiences while adding greater freedom for players to create their own content. By blending competitive racing with sandbox customization, the game aims to provide both structured challenges and open-ended experimentation.
With its October 28 launch approaching, Wreckreation is positioned as one of the notable racing releases of 2025, especially for fans of user-driven content and creative sandbox gameplay.
