ASRock Extends AM5 Motherboard Support to Latest AMD Ryzen 9000 and 7000 Series Processors

ASRock has officially confirmed that its AM5 motherboard series now supports the recently introduced AMD Ryzen 9000 and select Ryzen 7000 processors. This announcement ensures broader compatibility for users planning to upgrade to AMD’s latest CPUs while maintaining stability and performance across a wide range of chipsets.

The newly launched AMD Ryzen 9000 lineup includes the Ryzen 7 9700F and Ryzen 5 9500F, both designed without integrated graphics, targeting users who rely on discrete GPUs. Alongside these models, AMD has expanded its Ryzen 7000 family with the Ryzen 5 7400 and 7400F, further diversifying its processor offerings for different market segments.

ASRock confirmed that its AM5 motherboard portfolio—including the X870E, X870, B850, B840, X670E, B650E, B650, A620A, and A620 chipsets—can support these new processors with a simple BIOS update. By installing BIOS version 3.30 (AGESA 1.2.0.3e Patch A) or later, users can ensure full functionality with the latest Ryzen CPUs.

To make the process accessible, ASRock provides multiple update options. Users can download the BIOS directly from the company’s official website, while built-in features such as BIOS Flashback and Instant Flash allow quick upgrades without requiring additional hardware. These tools aim to simplify updates for both experienced builders and first-time PC users.

The company strongly advises updating to the latest BIOS version before installing a new processor. Keeping firmware current helps maintain compatibility, stability, and system performance, particularly as AMD continues to release new CPU models under the AM5 platform.

This update reflects ASRock’s ongoing commitment to supporting AMD’s evolving desktop ecosystem. With AM5 positioned as a long-term socket for Ryzen processors, timely BIOS updates play a key role in extending the lifecycle of motherboards and protecting the investments of PC builders.

ASRock also reminded users that official BIOS files should only be downloaded from its official website to avoid potential risks. The latest updates are available at the company’s support page: https://www.asrock.com/support/index.asp?cat=BIOS.

With this update, ASRock provides its customers with a clear path to adopt AMD’s newest processors, offering compatibility across a wide range of chipsets and system configurations.
