Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leak Points to 50% Higher AnTuTu Score

Fresh details on Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, suggest a substantial performance uplift compared to the current Snapdragon 8 Elite. A leak shared by a well-known Weibo source, Digital Chat Station, highlights early specifications and benchmark results, offering a first look at what to expect ahead of the official launch.

According to the report, Qualcomm has increased clock speeds on the new SoC. The performance cores in the tested version were running at 4.74GHz, slightly higher than the 4.61GHz previously rumored. Efficiency cores are said to reach 3.63GHz, while the overall CPU configuration remains a 2 + 6 cluster, similar to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

On the graphics side, Qualcomm is introducing the Adreno 840 GPU, which is clocked at 1.20GHz. This represents a modest increase over the Adreno 830’s 1.10GHz. The chipset is believed to be produced using TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process, allowing Qualcomm to raise frequencies while maintaining efficiency gains.

The most eye-catching claim is in the benchmark numbers. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 reportedly scored over 4 million points on AnTuTu, a significant jump compared to the current record-holder, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which scored 2,662,615 points. If accurate, this would mean a 50% performance increase over its predecessor, marking one of the largest generational leaps for Qualcomm in recent years.

However, early availability may be limited. Samsung is expected to secure exclusive rights to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in its upcoming Galaxy S26 series, before other manufacturers adopt the chipset. This agreement follows a similar strategy seen in previous flagship launches, giving Samsung a competitive edge at launch.

Qualcomm is set to officially unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 at the Snapdragon Summit on September 23. More precise details on performance, efficiency, and availability will likely be confirmed at the event. For now, the leaked specifications and benchmarks point toward a major step forward for Android flagship devices in 2026.
