Framework has announced a refreshed version of the Framework Laptop 16, bringing AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 300 Series processors and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. Pre-orders are live now, starting at $1,499 USD, with first shipments scheduled for November 2025.
First launched in 2023, the Framework Laptop 16 was designed as a high-performance and upgradeable 16-inch system. The latest update builds on that foundation with stronger performance, improved thermals, and expanded compatibility for both new and existing owners.
NVIDIA Graphics Upgrade
The biggest change is the introduction of the GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, built on NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. Framework reports a 30–40% performance improvement compared to the Radeon RX 7700S module.

The graphics module now supports 100 W sustained TGP, with redesigned cooling that uses Honeywell phase-change thermal material and optimized fan blade geometry for quieter operation. The panel has also been upgraded to a 165 Hz 2560×1600 display with NVIDIA G-SYNC support. Importantly, the new graphics module is fully backward compatible with the original Framework Laptop 16, allowing existing owners to upgrade.
Ryzen AI 300 Processors
On the CPU side, the laptop is now available with the Ryzen AI 7 350 (8 cores) and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (12 cores), both operating at 45 W sustained TDP. These processors also include stronger integrated graphics for users who prefer the lighter Expansion Bay Shell without a discrete GPU.

The updated Mainboard supports four simultaneous display outputs, while memory and storage remain upgradeable with up to 96 GB DDR5-5600 RAM and 10 TB storage across two M.2 slots.
Power and Other Updates

To meet higher power demands, Framework has introduced a new 240 W USB-C adapter compliant with USB-PD 3.1. This ensures the system can run at full load without draining the battery. Other refinements include a 2nd Gen Webcam, stronger CNC aluminium top cover, and updated modular keyboards with Linux-friendly options.
Pricing and Availability
The new Framework Laptop 16, along with the GeForce RTX 5070 graphics module and Ryzen AI 300 mainboards, is available for pre-order now. The first-generation Laptop 16 will remain on sale, starting at $1,299 USD, as a lower-cost alternative.
Framework will showcase the updated systems at PAX West (Aug 29–Sept 1) and Rails World (Sept 4–5). A launch livestream is also set for Aug 26th at 8:45 PT.
