ASRock Announces New AMD X870/X870E Motherboard Lineup for Overclockers, Gamers, and Creators

ASRock has introduced its latest range of AMD X870 and X870E motherboards, expanding its lineup with models designed for overclocking, gaming, content creation, and mainstream users. The new series includes the X870E Taichi OCF, Phantom Gaming X870 NOVA WiFi, X870 Taichi Creator, X870 LiveMixer WiFi, and X870 Pro-A WiFi. Each model brings unique features tailored to specific user needs, from extreme performance to enhanced connectivity.

The X870E Taichi OCF is ASRock’s first OC Formula motherboard built for AMD platforms. It targets enthusiasts aiming for extreme overclocking with a robust 22+2+1 phase 110A SPS power design and server-grade ultra-low loss PCB. The board features an optimized memory layout with one DIMM per channel architecture to achieve higher memory speeds. Storage support includes six M.2 slots, two of which support PCIe 5.0 x4, providing high bandwidth for next-generation SSDs. It also offers dual front USB Type-C connectors and dual rear USB4 Type-C ports for faster data transfer and charging.

For content creators, the X870 Taichi Creator adds dual network support with 10GbE and 5GbE connections, allowing faster access to local servers or NAS systems. Dual PCIe Gen 5 x4 M.2 slots and USB4 Type-C connectivity cater to high-speed storage requirements. The board also includes dual PCIe 5.0 x16 slots with additional spacing to accommodate two graphics cards for improved rendering performance. ASRock’s Ultra USB Power design delivers cleaner and more stable voltage to connected USB devices, helping to reduce noise in sensitive peripherals like audio equipment.

Gamers looking for high performance without a premium price may consider the Phantom Gaming X870 NOVA WiFi. It comes with an 18+2+1 phase 80A SPS VRM design and an 8-layer 2Oz PCB for improved power delivery and thermal efficiency. Dual PCIe Gen 5 x4 NVMe M.2 slots offer fast game loading speeds. The front USB Type-C port supports PD 3.0 fast charging up to 36W, making it convenient to charge devices while gaming.

The X870 LiveMixer WiFi is aimed at streamers and users who require extensive connectivity. It provides 25 USB ports, including two USB4 Type-C, and dual PCIe x4 slots for peripherals like capture cards. The inclusion of 5GbE networking and ASRock’s Lightning Gaming Ports ensures low-latency connections for online gaming and streaming tasks. Ultra USB Power ensures a stable voltage for connected audio and portable devices.

For those building systems on a budget, the X870 Pro-A WiFi offers a 16+2+1 phase VRM design and a large heatsink for efficient thermal management. It includes a PCIe Gen 5 x4 M.2 slot with top and bottom heatsinks for improved SSD cooling. WiFi 7 (802.11be) and dual USB4 Type-C ports bring high-end connectivity to this more affordable option, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

ASRock’s new X870/X870E motherboard series strengthens its portfolio with models that cater to various user groups. Whether for overclocking, gaming, content creation, or mainstream use, the lineup brings updated power delivery, connectivity, and storage options for AMD Ryzen platforms. Availability and pricing will vary by region.
