Akko has introduced the ISO layout version of its MOD 007 HE Year of the Dragon magnetic switch keyboard, now available in German, French, and UK layouts. This launch brings one of the company’s most distinctive designs to a broader audience across Europe.

The MOD 007 HE Year of the Dragon was first released in ANSI layout and gained industry recognition by receiving the Omdia Innovation Award at IFA Berlin 2024. Drawing on elements from Chinese mythology, the keyboard’s design reflects the Qinglong, or Azure Dragon, a symbol of strength and renewal. Its three-tone anodized aluminium case features laser-engraved dragon-scale patterns, while the dye-sublimated keycaps are printed with artwork of a dragon in flight. This approach combines cultural inspiration with a modern, industrial aesthetic.

In addition to design updates, the ISO release incorporates Akko’s Astrolink Magnetic Switches. These switches support adjustable actuation points and reset points, along with Rapid Trigger and SOCD cleaning features. This technology is designed to provide responsive and precise input for gaming and everyday use. Users can fine-tune key responses to match their preferred typing or gaming style, offering flexibility for different applications.
The keyboard package includes additional ISO keycap sets for French and UK layouts, as well as a Mac-compatible kit. This ensures out-of-the-box support for both Windows and macOS systems without requiring extra purchases or modifications. Akko’s decision to include these accessories reflects a focus on providing a complete and region-friendly product for European customers.

Looking ahead, Akko is preparing to expand its mythology-themed series. In August 2025, the company plans to introduce the MOD Alice Year of Snake, featuring an ergonomic Alice layout and mechanical switch technology. Inspired by Xuanwu, the Black Tortoise from Chinese folklore, the new model is expected to build on Akko’s blend of cultural design and technical engineering.
Akko is also working on two new premium product lines, the Gem and Mineral series. Positioned for mid-to-high-end markets, these keyboards will feature advanced materials, refined designs, and performance enhancements aimed at enthusiasts and professional users. Both series are part of Akko’s broader strategy to merge cultural storytelling with modern technology in the mechanical keyboard market.
