MSI has officially introduced its latest addition to the MAG series — the MAG A1000GLS PCIE5 power supply lineup. The new PSU series includes four different wattage options: 1000 W, 850 W, 750 W, and 650 W, all designed to meet the latest ATX 3.1 standard. Each model is built with support for up to 220% total power excursion, targeting users running high-performance components, including modern graphics cards and processors that demand peak power during load spikes.
The MAG A1000GLS PCIE5 series comes with triple certifications for efficiency: 80 Plus Gold, CYBENETICS Gold, and PPLP Gold. These certifications indicate a high level of power conversion efficiency, ensuring reduced power waste and heat output during operation. The “S” in the model name signifies a focus on silent operation, a key feature MSI highlights with this generation.
To reduce noise levels, MSI has included a 135 mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fan across the lineup. The fan is paired with optimized fan curves that adjust speed intelligently based on thermal load, aiming for quieter performance even under heavier workloads. According to MSI, the 1000 W variant is capable of achieving an A-level sound rating under a 230 V input, reflecting the improvements in acoustic design over previous MAG models. This noise-focused approach draws from the design philosophy of MSI’s higher-end MEG and MPG series PSUs.
Durability and safety are also core elements of the new MAG power supplies. Each unit is equipped with UL-certified cables and nickel-plated connectors that offer increased resistance to oxidation and wear. Built-in protections, including Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Temperature Protection (OTP), help safeguard the connected components from power-related damage.
The user experience during installation has also received attention. MSI has introduced a modular cable design with an embossed jacket to improve flexibility and allow for easier cable routing. These cables are made from materials selected to improve bendability, helping builders maintain better airflow and cleaner internal layouts. A pre-installed cable organizer is included as well, reducing clutter and contributing to a more streamlined appearance once the system is assembled.
