Valkyrie Launches VK 87 V2 TKL Mechanical Keyboard Series with 8KHz Polling

Valkyrie has announced the VK 87 V2 Series mechanical keyboard, introducing an updated tenkeyless model designed for users who want a compact layout with modern connectivity features. The keyboard supports tri-mode operation, allowing connection through wired USB-C, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth. The company highlights its silent core low-power technology, which enables Bluetooth mode power consumption to drop to around 1mA. Under certain conditions, Valkyrie rates battery life at up to 12,000 hours, positioning the VK 87 V2 series for long-term wireless use without frequent charging.

The VK 87 V2 adopts a TKL layout that removes the numpad while keeping a familiar key arrangement suitable for both gaming and daily work. A volume knob is integrated between the function row and the directional keys, providing quick access to audio adjustment without requiring additional key combinations. The design also includes a rear lighting strip described as a “dazzling star blade,” adding a visual element that complements the keyboard’s overall appearance. The RGB lighting system supports music rhythm synchronization, allowing lighting effects to respond dynamically to audio playback.

Internally, the VK 87 V2 uses a gasket-mounted structure combined with multiple layers of sound-absorbing materials. Valkyrie integrates five layers of internal dampening to help reduce vibration and typing noise. The keyboard features a hot-swappable lower LED PCB, allowing users to change switches without soldering. A horizontally slotted polycarbonate positioning plate is also included as part of the internal construction, a design choice commonly used to adjust typing feel and sound characteristics.

Performance is another area of focus, as the VK 87 V2 series supports an 8,000Hz polling rate in both wired USB-C and 2.4GHz wireless modes. Higher polling rates can help reduce input delay, which may benefit competitive gaming scenarios. The keyboard also includes advanced key-related functions such as SOCD, MDS, and MT, expanding input configuration options for users who require greater control.

Valkyrie plans to offer the VK 87 V2 series in Standard and MAX versions. Both models share the same core feature set, including tri-mode connectivity, hot-swappable support, and the gasket structure design. Differences between the versions may include additional configuration options depending on the specific model. The VK 87 V2 series adds another option in the growing TKL mechanical keyboard segment, targeting users who prioritize wireless flexibility, customization support, and consistent performance.
