Ubisoft has confirmed that the long-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is now targeting an early 2026 release. The news was included in the company’s latest earnings report for the 2025 fiscal year, which offered a limited but notable update on the publisher’s roadmap for upcoming titles.
According to Ubisoft, the remake is expected to arrive before the end of its 2026 fiscal year, placing the launch window somewhere between January and March 2026. This marks a clearer timeframe than previous estimates and suggests that development has reached a more stable phase after years of setbacks and changes behind the scenes.
While this provides a rare update on one of the company’s most requested projects, the rest of the earnings report paints a more cautious picture. CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that Ubisoft has delayed several of its larger in-development titles. Specific games were not named, but Guillemot referred to them as “some of our biggest productions,” indicating that these are likely entries from its flagship franchises.
“After review of our pipeline, we have decided to provide additional development time to some of our biggest productions in order to create the best conditions for success,” Guillemot said. “As a consequence, FY2026-27 and FY2027-28 will see significant content coming from our largest brands.”

Titles such as The Division 3 and the Splinter Cell Remake are widely believed to be among the games affected by these delays. While neither game was specifically mentioned in the earnings report, both have been in development for some time with minimal updates. In the case of Splinter Cell, this would mark another extended delay for a series that has not seen a new mainline release in over a decade.
Ubisoft has not provided revised timelines for these projects, but Guillemot’s comments suggest they may now be targeting late 2027 or 2028. This would put a considerable gap between announcement and release, especially for fans of series that have already been on hiatus.
Despite these delays, Ubisoft is positioning fiscal years 2026-27 and 2027-28 as major periods for content releases. The publisher is expected to lean heavily on established franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry to maintain momentum while the delayed titles continue development.
As for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, more details may be revealed in the coming months. With Summer Game Fest approaching, Ubisoft could use the event as an opportunity to showcase the game publicly for the first time since its original announcement in 2020. The remake has seen several changes in studios and production timelines, but this recent update gives fans a reason to expect concrete progress in the near future.
