Ubisoft has officially announced the creation of Vantage Studios, a new subsidiary formed in collaboration with Tencent. The move comes six months after Tencent acquired a 25 percent minority stake in the unit through a 1.16 billion euro investment.
Vantage Studios will take charge of Ubisoft’s most prominent series, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six. According to Ubisoft’s statement, the studio will act as a dedicated hub responsible for developing and expanding these franchises, while also coordinating with Ubisoft’s global services and technical resources.

Leadership of the subsidiary will be shared between Charlie Guillemot, son of Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, and Christophe Derennes, who will serve as co-CEOs. The studio’s responsibilities will cover narrative-driven projects, live-service models, multiplayer systems, and mobile expansion, signaling a shift toward a more diverse portfolio.
Ubisoft also confirmed that Vantage Studios represents the first step in a wider restructuring plan. The publisher intends to establish more “creative houses” in the future, each overseeing specific brands and franchises. This model may eventually lead to titles being released under new studio labels, while still operating as part of the Ubisoft group.
Teams from Ubisoft Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, and Sofia will be integrated into Vantage Studios, bringing together thousands of developers who have worked on key Ubisoft releases. The company stated that this approach aims to provide studios with greater autonomy, while maintaining a shared foundation of technology and expertise across Ubisoft.
The introduction of Vantage Studios follows a challenging year for Ubisoft in 2024. By consolidating its major franchises under this new structure, the company is preparing for long-term growth and positioning itself to adapt to an evolving global games market.
