Ubisoft used its Gamescom 2025 showcase to confirm two new projects tied to its ongoing The Division franchise. The company announced The Division 2: Survivors, described as a new survival extraction experience, and revealed The Division Resurgence, a free-to-play mobile MMO.

The Division 2: Survivors is currently in the early stages of development and is expected to release in 2026. Magnus Jansén, who has worked on the series since its debut in 2016, is serving as creative director, while executive producer Julian Gerighty emphasized Ubisoft’s focus on transparency and community involvement during the project’s development. Ubisoft released a handful of concept images but did not share gameplay details. Notably, Survivors does not appear to connect with the already announced Division 3, which remains without an update since its reveal in 2023.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft also announced The Division Resurgence for mobile devices. Set in Manhattan a few months after the events of the original Division game, Resurgence is designed to deliver a similar gameplay style to the mainline titles but adapted for mobile play. The studio confirmed that the game will expand the lore of the series by bridging the story between The Division and The Division 2. Players can already register for the game and may be able to join a closed beta ahead of launch.
In addition to these announcements, Ubisoft outlined the current roadmap for The Division 2. The most recent update, Battle for Brooklyn, arrived earlier this year, while the next major update, Year 7 Season 2: The Pact, is scheduled for release on September 9.

With Survivors and Resurgence now in development, Ubisoft is positioning The Division franchise to remain active across PC, console, and mobile platforms, though fans still await further news on The Division 3.
