The highly anticipated PC release of The Last of Us Part II Remastered is just around the corner, launching on April 3. As Naughty Dog gears up for the release, the developers have shared details on the new features and enhancements that will be available for PC players. Whether you’re experiencing Ellie and Abby’s harrowing journey for the first time or returning for another playthrough, the remastered edition promises a host of improvements and fresh content.
PC-Specific Enhancements
The PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered includes all the upgrades introduced in the PlayStation 5 edition, such as the roguelike survival mode No Return, Guitar Free Play, and hours of developer commentary. However, the PC version also benefits from several platform-specific optimizations, thanks to collaboration with Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy.

Key PC optimizations include:
- NVIDIA DLSS 3 Super Resolution support
- AMD FSR 3.1 and FSR 4 upscaling and frame generation support
- VSync and framerate cap options, including uncapped framerate
- DirectStorage support for improved loading times
- Customizable graphical settings, including:
- Adjustable texture quality
- LOD distance range
- Volumetric effects
- Shadow quality
- Ambient occlusion
- Reflections quality

Additionally, the game offers ultrawide monitor support, allowing players to experience the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us Part II in 21:9, 32:9, and even 48:9 resolutions across triple-monitor setups.
Control and Audio Enhancements
PC players will have access to extensive customization options for both keyboard and mouse controls, including:
- Full key remapping
- Primary and secondary bindings
- Adaptive mode for mixed input between keyboard and controller
- Full gamepad support, including DualSense haptic feedback
Immersion is further enhanced through 3D audio support, ensuring every action sequence and emotional moment is brought to life with detailed sound design.
New Content for No Return Mode
Alongside the technical enhancements, The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC will also introduce new content for No Return, the game’s roguelike survival mode. Two new playable characters from The Last of Us Part I, Bill and Marlene, will bring unique abilities and playstyles to the mode:
- Bill (Smuggler class): Gains access to a custom pump shotgun from dead drops, doubles rewards, and has increased melee resistance but lacks dodge capabilities.
- Marlene (Risk Taker class): Comes equipped with a custom assault rifle, special abilities like “All or Nothing” gambits, and can reroute her No Return path once per run.

Additionally, four new maps have been added to No Return, each inspired by locations from the main game:
- Overlook – A vertical battleground set above Seattle
- School – The abandoned elementary school from Ellie and Dina’s encounter with the W.L.F.
- Streets – The overgrown Hillcrest neighborhood
- Nest – An infested building from Abby’s storyline

PlayStation 5 players will also receive this new No Return content as part of a free 2.0.0 patch launching alongside the PC release.
PlayStation Network Integration and Bonuses
While a PlayStation Network (PSN) account is not required to play on PC, players who choose to log in will receive exclusive bonuses, including 50 in-game points and a special Ellie skin featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

PS5 players will also gain access to this new skin through the 2.0.0 patch, which is unlockable via in-game bonus points.
