Liquid Swords has officially released SAMSON: A Tyndalston Story, the studio’s latest narrative-driven action title, now available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store for $24.99 USD. The project is led by Christofer Sundberg, whose previous work helped shape action titles such as Just Cause and Mad Max.
SAMSON: A Tyndalston Story places players in the role of Samson McCray, who returns to the city of Tyndalston after serving time in prison. The city he left behind has changed, with the spread of a synthetic drug known as White Whisper affecting both the local population and criminal networks.
Dealers profit from its distribution, while users face serious consequences. Samson is also under financial pressure, as mounting debt and threats involving his sister force him into situations that shape the direction of the story. As events unfold, his search reveals a deeper conflict connected to the city’s shifting power structure.
Unlike the large-scale worlds often associated with Sundberg’s past work, SAMSON focuses on a smaller environment designed around persistent consequences. The game introduces systems that place pressure on the player through limited daily actions and an economy where debt continues to grow over time. Each decision influences future opportunities, creating a structure where planning and efficiency become important elements of progression.
Combat avoids traditional firearms and instead emphasizes close-range encounters. Players rely on hand-to-hand techniques, environmental objects, and timing during confrontations. The approach draws inspiration from grounded action games such as Sifu, Sleeping Dogs, and The Warriors. Samson also has access to a personal vehicle known as the Magnum Opus, which can be used in certain gameplay situations and features physics-based interactions that influence how encounters unfold.

According to Liquid Swords, Tyndalston is designed to function as a reactive setting where factions and characters respond to player actions. Relationships can shift over time, and decisions made during missions may affect how the city evolves. The studio describes the project as the starting point for a broader world, with SAMSON presenting a more contained experience focused on narrative tension and mechanical depth.
SAMSON: A Tyndalston Story is out now on Steam and the Epic Games Store, priced at $24.99 USD.
