Aniplex Inc. has announced Resident Evil Survival Unit, a new mobile strategy game co-developed with South Korea-based JOYCITY Corporation. The title is based on Capcom’s long-running Resident Evil franchise, known as BIOHAZARD in Japan, and is being created in close partnership with Capcom to ensure it reflects the series’ distinct atmosphere and themes.
Designed for iOS and Android platforms, Resident Evil Survival Unit aims to reimagine the survival horror universe as a real-time strategy experience. The game introduces a different approach for the Resident Evil series, focusing on tactical gameplay that involves managing resources, building defenses, and commanding units in high-stakes scenarios. According to Aniplex, this format is intended to appeal to both veterans of the franchise and players who are new to the Resident Evil universe.

The title will see a global release across multiple regions, including Japan, South Korea, North America, Europe, and Asia. While a specific launch date has not been provided, Aniplex has confirmed that more information will be shared in an upcoming online showcase event.
The online showcase is scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00 PM UTC. Viewers in Japan can tune in on Friday, July 11, at 7:00 AM JST, while audiences in North America can watch on July 10 at 3:00 PM PDT, 5:00 PM CDT, or 6:00 PM EDT. The event will be streamed through the official Resident Evil Survival Unit website, where pre-registration for viewing is now open.
To support the launch, Aniplex and JOYCITY have also opened several official channels where fans can follow updates, trailers, and announcements. These include a dedicated website, YouTube channel, and social media accounts on X (formerly Twitter), Discord, Facebook, and Instagram.
