Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Xiaomi Corporation have announced a renewed multi-year agreement, marking 15 years of collaboration between the two companies. The long-standing partnership has played a key role in the development of mobile technologies and device innovation across global markets.
The new agreement will see continued cooperation between Qualcomm and Xiaomi in premium smartphones and an expanded focus on areas such as automotive, smart home devices, wearables, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) devices, and tablets. This move reinforces both companies’ commitment to driving product development using Snapdragon platforms across various connected device segments.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun highlighted the importance of Qualcomm’s role in the company’s journey from a startup to a global brand. He stated that Snapdragon platforms have consistently supported Xiaomi’s product development, and the renewed collaboration will help the company continue delivering new devices with high performance and advanced features.

Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon also acknowledged the success of the 15-year partnership and emphasized the importance of working closely with Xiaomi in the next phase of technology development. According to Amon, Snapdragon platforms will continue to power Xiaomi’s flagship smartphones, and the partnership will expand to more product categories going forward.
As part of the agreement, Xiaomi’s premium smartphones will continue to be powered by the Snapdragon 8-series chipset for multiple future product generations. The agreement covers both the Chinese and global markets, with increased production volumes expected year-over-year. Xiaomi is also expected to be among the first to launch a smartphone powered by the upcoming generation of the Snapdragon 8-series later in 2025.

Looking back, the Qualcomm-Xiaomi partnership dates to Xiaomi’s first smartphone, the Mi 1, launched in 2011 with a Snapdragon processor. Since then, the two companies have worked together on several generations of mobile devices. Xiaomi’s most recent flagship, the Mi 15 series, launched with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and has seen strong market reception.
Beyond smartphones, the companies have expanded their collaboration to include automotive technologies. Xiaomi’s debut electric vehicle, the SU7, released in 2023, uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform to power its smart cabin and infotainment features. It also features the Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF system for real-time connectivity and location services.
In the smart home category, Xiaomi has used Qualcomm’s Wi-Fi solutions, including Wi-Fi 7, to improve connectivity and performance in its home networking products. The partnership also includes wearables such as earbuds and smartwatches. Notable examples include the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro, using the Snapdragon S7 series audio platform, and the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, built on the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 wearable platform.
With the new agreement in place, both companies plan to work on developing more intelligent and connected devices. This includes improvements in on-device processing and AI across various product categories. The announcement signals a continued alignment between the two firms as they look to shape the future of consumer electronics and smart mobility.
