Orico Launches Obook Laptop Featuring AMD R7-7735HS and 14-inch 1200p Display

Orico has introduced its latest product, the Obook laptop, marking the company’s expansion from accessories and mini PCs into the notebook market. The Obook, which takes design inspiration from Apple’s MacBook series, is currently available for pre-order on JD.com. The laptop is listed at 3299 yuan (around $452), with a 400 yuan discount for pre-orders, reducing the cost to 2899 yuan (approximately $410). It will officially go on sale on November 30.

The Obook is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor, built on Zen 3+ architecture. This 8-core, 16-thread processor operates at a base TDP of 45W, offering balanced performance for productivity and general workloads. The system is paired with DDR5 memory rated at 6400MT/s, which helps enhance data bandwidth and efficiency compared to previous DDR4 platforms.

The laptop features a 14-inch IPS matte display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, delivering a 16:10 aspect ratio suitable for office and creative tasks. The panel supports 350 nits brightness and 100% sRGB color coverage, designed for clear visuals in various lighting conditions. The screen also supports a 180° hinge, allowing the display to lie flat for presentations or collaborative use. At approximately 1.45kg, the Obook aims to provide a portable yet capable configuration for users who require mobility.

In terms of endurance, the Obook includes a 57.5Wh battery, paired with a 100W PD fast charger. According to Orico, the system can provide up to 11.4 hours of operation on a single charge, depending on usage conditions. The laptop also comes with Wi-Fi 6 support and offers dual M.2 drive bays for expandable storage.

Connectivity options include a full-featured USB Type-C port, HDMI output, TF 3.0 card reader, and a gigabit Ethernet port, ensuring compatibility with a range of peripherals. These features position the Obook as a functional laptop for both office and multimedia needs.

With its combination of modern AMD hardware, high-resolution display, and lightweight build, the Orico Obook enters the competitive mid-range laptop segment. The product’s pricing and specifications indicate Orico’s intent to reach users seeking performance and design balance in an affordable package.
