NZXT Introduces N7 B850 Motherboard for AMD Socket AM5 with PCIe Gen 5 and Wi-Fi 6E

NZXT has officially expanded its lineup of AMD motherboards with the launch of the N7 B850, a new model designed for the Socket AM5 platform. The company is offering the board in two distinct trims—an all-black version and a two-tone black-and-white design. Both feature a black PCB, while the dual-tone edition comes with matte white shrouds on the VRM heatsinks, M.2 heatsinks, and the I/O cover for a cleaner contrast look.

The N7 B850 is built around AMD’s B850 chipset and uses an 8-layer PCB reinforced with 2 oz copper layers for durability and signal stability. Power is delivered through a 24-pin ATX connector and two 8-pin EPS connectors, feeding into a 16+2+1 phase VRM design equipped with 80 A DrMOS per phase. This configuration aims to support modern Ryzen processors with stable performance under demanding workloads.

The AM5 socket is paired with four DDR5 DIMM slots, allowing up to 256 GB of memory with speeds reaching DDR5-8000. Expansion capabilities include one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for graphics cards, alongside two PCIe Gen 5 M.2 slots for next-generation NVMe storage. A third M.2 slot operates at PCIe Gen 4 x4 speeds and is connected to the B850 chipset. Additional PCIe slots include one x4 and one x1, with the x4 slot sharing bandwidth with the third M.2 connector.

For storage, users will find three M.2 NVMe slots and four SATA 6 Gbps ports, offering flexibility for both high-speed SSDs and traditional SATA drives.

On the connectivity front, the NZXT N7 B850 provides a range of USB options, including one 10 Gbps USB-C port, two 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, four 5 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and two USB 2.0 ports. Internal headers include a 10 Gbps USB-C and two 5 Gbps USB 3.2 connections. HDMI is available for display output when using compatible processors.

Networking options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 powered by the MediaTek RZ608 controller, along with a 5 Gbps wired Ethernet port via the Realtek 8126 PHY. Audio duties are handled by the Realtek ALC1220 codec, delivering multi-channel onboard sound.

As with other NZXT motherboards, the N7 B850 integrates seamlessly with NZXT CAM software, enabling users to monitor system performance, adjust fan curves, and manage lighting configurations from a single interface.

NZXT has not yet disclosed official pricing or availability details for the N7 B850, but the board will target PC builders looking for a balance of next-generation connectivity, stable power delivery, and NZXT’s signature clean design.
