NVIDIA Reportedly Moves GeForce RTX 5050 Launch to July 1

NVIDIA is rumored to have moved up the launch of its upcoming GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card, now targeting a release date of July 1, 2025. This change comes just weeks after earlier reports placed the launch toward the end of the same month. According to information shared by MEGAsizeGPU (Twitter), a well-regarded source for NVIDIA-related leaks, the company has already notified its add-in card (AIC) partners about the new timeline.

Despite the updated schedule, there appears to be no indication that any RTX 5050 graphics cards will be ready to ship to retailers or customers on that date. This raises questions about NVIDIA’s overall launch approach, particularly as the company has not announced any press events for early July, and the product will debut in a quiet window following the conclusion of Computex in late May.

The RTX 5050 is positioned to fill the lower end of the Blackwell GPU product stack, and is believed to be built around the GB207 GPU. This is expected to be the smallest chip in the Blackwell family, aimed at offering a cost-effective upgrade path for budget and entry-level users. Technical details, while not yet confirmed by NVIDIA, suggest the GB207 could feature 20 Streaming Multiprocessors (SMs), providing 2,560 CUDA cores, 80 Tensor cores, and 20 RT cores. The configuration may also include 80 texture units (TMUs), with the number of render output units (ROPs) still unknown.

The memory configuration for the RTX 5050 is expected to include 8 GB of GDDR6, possibly operating at 18 Gbps or 20 Gbps. This would connect over a 128-bit memory interface, giving the card a memory bandwidth that should be sufficient for 1080p gaming performance. The overall design of the card suggests it is being optimized for low power consumption and compact form factors.

With a planned price tag under $250, the RTX 5050 is set to compete directly with Intel’s upcoming Arc B580 graphics card. This price segment continues to be important for both casual gamers and PC builders looking for value-oriented performance.

NVIDIA’s decision to bring the launch forward may reflect an effort to gain momentum in the mid-range segment during the typically slow summer season. By getting the announcement out early, NVIDIA might be hoping that AIC partners can begin shipping products to retail shelves as soon as they are ready, avoiding further delays that could affect market traction.

As of now, NVIDIA has not issued any official statement on the RTX 5050’s launch date or specifications. More clarity is expected in the coming weeks as board partners prepare their own versions of the card.
