Nubia has officially introduced its latest mid-range smartphone, the Nubia Air, with a slim profile measuring only 5.9mm. Priced at $279 (around Rs. 24,600), the phone enters the growing segment of budget-friendly slim smartphones, arriving shortly after Tecno unveiled the Pova Slim 5G.

The Nubia Air comes equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display offering a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The screen is protected with Gorilla Glass 7i, making it more resistant to scratches and accidental drops.

Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Unisoc T8300 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM, which can be virtually expanded by up to 12GB. Storage is fixed at 256GB, catering to users who need extra room for apps, media, and documents.

For photography, the Nubia Air features a 50MP main camera with EIS support, accompanied by two additional secondary sensors. The front camera is a 20MP unit for selfies and video calls. Nubia has included several software-based tools such as Night Mode, HDR, VLOG Mode, Magic Editor, and Magic Eraser, enabling more flexible shooting and quick edits directly on the device.

Durability is another highlight. Despite its slim frame, the Nubia Air carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, protecting it against dust, water, and even high-pressure sprays. The device also integrates real-time translation during calls, face-to-face conversations, and noise and echo cancellation for clearer communication.
Powering the smartphone is a 5,000mAh battery, though Nubia has not yet shared official details about its charging speeds.

The Nubia Air will first be available in Europe, followed by Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and other regions later in the year. Color variants include Titanium Black, Streamer Black, and Titanium Desert.
At $279, the Nubia Air targets users seeking a slim, mid-range smartphone with a high-quality display and durability features typically seen in higher-tier devices.
