Nextorage Launches NX-E1 Series USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 SSD Enclosures with NVMe and SATA Support

Nextorage officially launched the NX-E1 series USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 mobile solid-state drive enclosures on August 8, 2025, introducing two models: the NX-EN1SE and the NX-EN1PRO. Both enclosures are designed to support PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs across four M.2 form factors, including 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280.

The enclosures offer compatibility with SSDs equipped with PlayStation 5-ready heatsinks, allowing installation without removing the thermal solution. To make the process more convenient, the NX-E1 series also adopts a tool-free installation design, reducing the need for additional equipment during setup.

The NX-EN1SE is positioned as the standard model in the series. It provides USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connectivity, delivering speeds of up to 20Gbps when paired with compatible devices. This allows faster file transfers and improved efficiency for tasks involving high-capacity storage, such as video editing, large-scale data handling, or game storage management.

The NX-EN1PRO extends functionality beyond the standard version. It introduces an independent USB-C PD power supply port, which helps manage power delivery when using high-performance drives. The PRO model also features an integrated cooling fan to control heat during prolonged workloads, official support for up to 8TB SSDs, and the ability to pass through up to 100W of PD power directly to the host system. This simplifies cable management by reducing the need for separate power adapters.

Nextorage has set the retail price of the NX-EN1SE at 4,980 yen, while the NX-EN1PRO will be sold at 6,980 yen. Based on the current exchange rate, these prices translate to approximately RMB 241.3 and RMB 338.2, respectively.

The NX-E1 series brings high-speed transfer performance, wide SSD compatibility, and practical installation features to portable storage solutions. Nextorage has not yet confirmed international release dates or availability outside Japan.
