MINISFORUM has showcased its new BD995M series MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) motherboards at CES 2026, highlighting its continued focus on compact desktop platforms powered by high-end mobile processors. The BD995M series will be available with two onboard CPU options from AMD’s latest HX lineup: the Ryzen 9 9955HX and the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D. Both processors are designed to deliver high multi-core performance while maintaining the efficiency advantages of mobile silicon.
MoDT motherboards based on AMD’s HX platform usually adopt a bridgeless design, relying entirely on the processor’s native PCIe connectivity. This approach reduces complexity but can limit platform features. The BD995M differs from this common layout by incorporating the AMD X870 chipset. By adding a chipset, MINISFORUM is expected to expand I/O capabilities, including support for USB4, which is not always present on HX-based MoDT designs. USB4 support can be useful for users who depend on fast external storage, high-resolution displays, or single-cable docking solutions.

The BD995M design builds upon a prototype called F1FGM that MINISFORUM displayed last year. While the overall form factor and concept remain similar, the production-ready BD995M introduces several changes. One of the most notable updates is the memory configuration. Instead of a four-slot layout, the BD995M uses a 2DIMM (1DPC) design. This choice reduces board complexity and material usage while also improving memory signal integrity. As a result, the board should offer better headroom for DDR5 memory overclocking compared to denser DIMM layouts.
From a visual perspective, MINISFORUM has added lighting elements influenced by its AtomMan gaming product line. These additions suggest that the BD995M is intended to appeal to both workstation users and gaming-focused builders who prefer compact systems without a purely industrial look.
In addition to the BD995M series, MINISFORUM also confirmed plans for the BD395i MAX, a MoDT motherboard based on AMD’s “Strix Halo” platform. While details on the BD395i MAX remain limited, its mention alongside the BD995M indicates a broader refresh of MINISFORUM’s MoDT lineup.
According to the company, both the BD995M series and the BD395i MAX are expected to reach the market in the first half of this year. Pricing and final specifications have not yet been disclosed, but the CES 2026 showing suggests that MINISFORUM is positioning these boards as feature-rich options within the growing MoDT segment.
