Lenovo Reveals Arcade Dock for Legion Y700 Tablets with Retro Controls and SNK Editions

Lenovo has introduced a new arcade dock designed for its Legion Y700 4th and 5th-generation tablets, adding a hardware-based control option for users interested in retro-style gameplay. The accessory was presented during the company’s recent event, where it also outlined a broader push to expand the ecosystem around its gaming tablets.

The arcade dock is built around a detachable structure that allows the tablet to be mounted securely while still being easy to remove when not in use. Its primary feature is a full-size arcade joystick, supported by an 8-way mechanical microswitch system rated for up to one million operations. This is paired with a total of 13 buttons arranged in an 8+5 layout, giving users a familiar control scheme similar to traditional arcade machines. The configuration is suitable for genres such as fighting games and side-scrolling shooters, where physical inputs can offer more consistency than touch controls.

Lenovo is offering the accessory in multiple finishes, including a standard “Explosion” design and two variants based on titles associated with SNK. These themed editions draw from The King of Fighters ’97 and Metal Slug 3, both of which remain closely tied to arcade gaming culture. The inclusion of these designs points to a focus on users who value classic titles alongside modern mobile games.

In addition to the arcade dock, Lenovo announced the Legion Gamepad G9 2026 and the Legion G3 accessory for the latest Legion Y700 tablet. While full specifications were not shared, both products are positioned to extend the functionality of the device beyond standard touchscreen gaming. The G9 2026 appears to target users looking for a more conventional controller experience, while the G3 is part of the company’s growing lineup of tablet-focused peripherals.

The announcement reflects a continued effort to position the Legion Y700 as a flexible gaming device that can adapt to different usage styles. By introducing accessories that change how the tablet is used, Lenovo is targeting a segment that sits between handheld consoles and traditional mobile gaming. Pricing and release timelines for these accessories have not been confirmed.
