Jamesdonkey NV60 Keyboard Launches With TMR Magnetic Switches and NVIDIA-Inspired Design

Jamesdonkey has officially introduced the NV60 wired keyboard, a compact 60% model built around TMR magnetic switch technology and a design language inspired by NVIDIA graphics cards. The keyboard incorporates visual elements that reference GPU styling, including a detailed backplate and themed keycaps that reflect the overall aesthetic approach. This release highlights the continued expansion of magnetic switch adoption in enthusiast-grade keyboards, particularly among users focused on fast response and consistent keystroke behavior.

The NV60 features a CNC-machined aluminum alloy chassis designed to provide structural rigidity while maintaining a premium feel. The keyboard uses a top-mounted structure paired with an FR4 gold-plated positioning plate, a material commonly used in enthusiast builds due to its balanced flex characteristics. Internally, the NV60 integrates four layers of sound-absorbing material intended to reduce resonance and improve acoustic feedback during typing. This layered configuration aims to deliver a controlled sound profile without relying on excessive dampening that could negatively affect key feel.

All versions of the NV60 are equipped with Gateron Jade Dragon switches, rated at 33 gf actuation force. These switches use a dual-rail construction combined with a dual-sealed bottom housing designed to reduce stem movement and improve stability during rapid inputs. TMR magnetic sensing removes traditional metal contact points, allowing actuation to be detected through magnetic field changes, which may contribute to long-term consistency and reduced mechanical wear.

Jamesdonkey states that the NV60 integrates a 480MHz high-frequency MCU alongside a 16-bit high-precision ADC, enabling an 8kHz polling rate and a 256kHz full-key scan rate. The keyboard also supports Rapid Trigger adjustment with a precision of 0.005mm, allowing actuation reset points to respond quickly to small key movements. These characteristics are typically associated with competitive gaming use cases where reduced latency and faster repeated inputs can influence performance.

The 60% layout removes the dedicated function row and navigation keys, allowing for a smaller footprint suitable for compact desk setups. Despite its size, the NV60 focuses on build materials and internal structure commonly seen in higher-end enthusiast keyboards. Pricing and availability details have not been confirmed at the time of writing.
