Redivided Studios has announced Horizon Journey, a new open-world survival game set on a scientifically accurate recreation of Mars, launching on Steam on June 27, 2025. Players will soon be able to experience life on the Red Planet through a free demo, arriving just before Steam Next Fest begins in early June.
Set in the year 2053, Horizon Journey puts players in the role of a colonist from the 17th Endeavor Mission. The objective is clear but challenging: survive the planet’s hostile environment, build a functioning colony, and initiate the long-term goal of terraforming Mars. Unlike many science fiction games that only loosely reference real-world space science, this title is built using actual imagery and data from NASA, which informs its terrain design and environmental systems.
The game features a base-building system designed to allow extensive customisation. Players can construct habitats, power stations, food synthesising units, and other essential infrastructure. Managing energy through a grid-based system and maintaining life support will be critical to survival. Systems for health, oxygen, nutrition, and other vital stats must be monitored constantly, especially as players venture beyond their base.
Exploration plays a major role in the gameplay. The Martian surface is vast and varied, including radiation zones, sandstorms, and remnants of previous missions. Abandoned equipment and facilities can be salvaged for resources. Players will also be able to use customisable vehicles to traverse the terrain, although limited visibility and hazardous weather conditions will make travel risky.

Multiplayer support allows players to work together to survive and expand their colony. In cooperative mode, teams can split tasks, from managing resources to exploring dangerous regions. However, whether playing solo or with others, careful planning will be essential. The game includes mechanics for resource scarcity, environmental threats, and colony management, requiring players to balance long-term growth with immediate survival.
As colonies grow, players will have opportunities to begin limited terraforming, slowly modifying the Martian environment to become more hospitable. This feature is designed to evolve over time, offering players a sense of progress tied to their success in building and maintaining their base.

A free demo will be available during Steam Next Fest in June 2025, giving players a first-hand look at the game’s mechanics and atmosphere. Redivided Studios says this version will feature a slice of the full experience, including early construction, survival mechanics, and limited exploration.
Horizon Journey will be available on PC via Steam starting June 27. Players can follow updates through Redivided Studios’ official website and social media channels.
