Gamescom 2025 is just around the corner, and the annual Opening Night Live presentation is set to officially launch the event with a wave of new announcements and updates. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the live showcase will take place on Tuesday, August 19, and run for approximately two hours.
While the full lineup remains under wraps, several major titles have already been confirmed. Fans can expect appearances from Resident Evil Requiem, Ghost of Yotei, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Ninja Gaiden 4. The presentation will also include a preview of the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout TV series, which is set to debut in December 2025, although an exact release date has not yet been announced.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is set to make an appearance during Opening Night Live. After years of speculation and multiple delays, the event could finally provide a confirmed release date for the long-awaited title.
In addition to software announcements, hardware reveals are also expected. A recent report from Billbil-kun of Dealabs suggests that Sony will introduce the Inzone H9 II gaming headset during the event. Visitors attending Gamescom in person will also have the opportunity to try out the new ROG Xbox Ally handheld console. Its official release date is anticipated to be confirmed during the live presentation.
Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert will return to Gamescom following its recent delay, giving attendees another chance to see the game in action. On the other hand, Embark Studios has confirmed that its upcoming shooter, ARC Raiders, will not be part of this year’s lineup.
The Opening Night Live presentation will be broadcast globally on YouTube and other major streaming platforms. Viewers can tune in live on August 19 at 11 a.m. PT, 2 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. BST, and 8 p.m. CEST.
With a mix of new game announcements, hardware reveals, and updates on highly anticipated titles, Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live is expected to be one of the most significant gaming events of the year.
