Fujitsu Launches FMV Keyboard X with Low-Profile Design and Silent Magnetic Switches

Fujitsu Client Computing (FCCL) has launched the FMV Keyboard X in Japan, offering a compact TKL layout with JIS key arrangement and silent magnetic switches. The keyboard is designed to match the layout of Fujitsu FMV laptops, allowing users to transition between devices without relearning key positions. This approach aims to improve efficiency for tasks like document editing and spreadsheet management. The FMV Keyboard X is available through crowdfunding, with the lowest price set at 23,760 yen, approximately $173 USD.

The keyboard features a low-profile design, measuring 27.6mm in height and weighing 600 grams. Its top cover is made from aluminum alloy for durability, while the keycaps are constructed from coated matte PC resin. The magnetic switches have a key travel of around 3.0mm and include an adjustable actuation point of 0.1mm, giving users precise control over typing sensitivity. In addition, FCCL provides three preset key pressure levels—light, medium, and heavy—so that users can select the feel that best suits their typing style.

The FMV Keyboard X also introduces a unique non-full-height arrow key design that is intended to reduce finger movement and enhance workflow during extended typing sessions. The built-in battery supports up to one month of use on a single charge, adding convenience for users who work on the go. Overall, the FMV Keyboard X combines portability, durability, and customization, making it a suitable option for professionals and home users seeking a quiet and efficient typing experience.
