Forza Horizon 6 Expected to Be Announced at Tokyo Game Show 2025

Microsoft’s next entry in the Forza Horizon franchise may be officially revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2025. A report from Insider Gaming cites leaked internal documentation suggesting that Forza Horizon 6 will be unveiled during the event, which runs from September 25 to September 28 in Tokyo.

The report claims that the documentation has been “widely circulated” across development circles, pointing toward a planned announcement during the showcase. While Microsoft has yet to comment, the information has gained traction after being echoed by gaming journalists Tom Henderson and NatetheHate on X.

One of the most notable details is the rumored setting. According to NatetheHate, Forza Horizon 6 will take place in Japan, aligning the game’s location with the Tokyo reveal venue. If confirmed, this would mark the first time the Horizon series has been set in Japan, expanding on previous installments that featured Mexico, the UK, and Australia.

The Japanese setting has been a long-requested location among fans, offering a mix of dense urban streets, coastal highways, and mountainous driving routes that fit well with the open-world design of the franchise.

There is ongoing discussion regarding platform support. While some earlier speculation suggested a possible Nintendo Switch release, NatetheHate stated that the game may not launch on either the current Switch or the rumored Switch 2. Technical limitations were previously cited as the reason Forza Horizon 5 never arrived on the original Switch hardware.

Forza Horizon 5 required an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 as part of its recommended PC specifications, hardware that was already several years old at the time. If the trend continues, Forza Horizon 6 is expected to require an NVIDIA RTX 2000- or 3000-series GPU, similar to other upcoming titles such as Borderlands 4.

With Tokyo Game Show 2025 set to begin on September 25, confirmation of these leaks could arrive soon. If accurate, the event will serve as the stage for Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios to showcase the future of the Forza Horizon franchise.
