Farlight 84, the multiplayer hero-based battle royale shooter, has officially relaunched with a major update now live across PC and mobile platforms. The latest version introduces a wide range of gameplay improvements and system overhauls, designed to enhance player experience and broaden the game’s appeal across different platforms.
Farlight 84 now features a first-person view, expanding beyond its original third-person perspective. This new option gives players a fresh way to experience the game’s fast-paced combat. With the shift in perspective, engagements feel more immediate, and movement through the environment becomes sharper and more tactical. The added viewpoint also enhances the intensity of each match, encouraging a more focused style of play.
Alongside this new perspective, the game now includes a brand-new map called Nextara. The map adds fresh terrain types, vertical movement opportunities, and strategic choke points. The update also introduces a new hero named Kui Dou, expanding the roster of playable characters and offering new gameplay mechanics through unique abilities.

The Buddy System, a key feature in Farlight 84 that allows players to collect and deploy companion creatures during matches, has received a full rework. The updated Buddy System 2.0 brings new creatures known as Super Buddies, each with distinct abilities that can alter the outcome of combat scenarios. These companions provide tactical support, such as terrain manipulation and stealth-based item collection, making them an integral part of match strategy.
Gameplay mechanics have also been refined, with parkour-based movement playing a larger role. Players can now vault, climb, and run across more complex terrain, making vertical positioning more important in both offense and defense. A new traversal tool called the Rat Cannon has been added, giving teams the ability to reposition quickly or surprise enemies from unexpected angles.

Weapons have been rebalanced, and new firearms have been added to expand player loadout options. Gunplay has been improved with synchronized systems that support fluid firing and aiming, contributing to more responsive and polished combat scenarios.
According to the developers, Farlight 84 has reached over 50 million registered users, with more than a million active players in the past two years. Developed over six years with a reported budget of more than $140 million, the game now supports full cross-platform play, allowing users to maintain progression across Steam, Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android.
Farlight 84 is free to download and play. More information is available on the official website. Players can also follow updates through social media platforms and join the community on Discord.
