Ex Sanguis From Othercide Creators Launches in Early Access on Steam May 21, 2026

Lightbulb Crew has announced that their latest strategy game, Ex Sanguis, will enter Steam Early Access on May 21, 2026. Players lead elite warriors known as Stillae to protect a dying world from forces of stasis, engaging in turn-based combat where careful planning and timing are essential. The game introduces Timeline Effects, allowing players to hasten, delay, or swap turns, creating opportunities to shift battles in their favor. Environmental interactions are also a core feature, with players able to ignite enemies, explode objects, or block paths to gain an advantage. Spatial tactics such as flanking, knock-backs, forced facing, and damage-over-time effects provide further depth to each encounter.

Developer Lightbulb Crew has confirmed that the Early Access period is planned to last around six months.

“We’ll take the time needed to deliver a polished and complete experience. The timeline may adjust based on player feedback and development progress. We plan to expand the game with additional content, improved balance, new features, and overall polish. We’re also exploring the possibility of new game modes. Our aim is to build on the core mechanics and continue refining the game’s performance and quality,” the team said.

Ex Sanguis also incorporates a roguelite progression system. Players earn ‘Corrupted Blood’ from defeating enemies, which can be used to unlock epic bosses earlier or gain upgrades through Map Events. Missions become more difficult as players move toward the map’s outer rim, and each playthrough offers new challenges and rewards. With each return to the battlefield, players can grow stronger, unlock hidden abilities, and face increasingly dangerous enemies, making every session unique and strategic.

A 30-second trailer demonstrates the game’s combat and features, confirming the Early Access launch date of May 21, 2026. Fans of tactical, turn-based strategy and roguelite progression have a new title to watch closely.
