EPOMAKER has announced the launch of its latest mechanical keyboard, the Split70. This new Keyboard introduces a fresh approach to compact keyboard design, focusing on ergonomics, build quality, and customization. Designed for users who spend long hours typing or gaming, the Split70 offers a flat split layout intended to promote a more relaxed wrist position while maintaining the familiar feel of a traditional keyboard.
The Split70 divides the keyboard between the 6-7, T-Y, and G-H key columns, effectively separating the left and right halves for a natural hand posture. Each half includes its own B key and a half-length spacebar, providing flexibility in thumb use and minimizing strain during extended sessions. This design aims to combine comfort with efficiency, particularly for users transitioning from standard layouts.

Built around a 65% layout, the EPOMAKER Split70 features 67 keys, four additional function keys, and one rotary knob that can be programmed for volume, brightness, or custom shortcuts. The internal structure uses a gasket-mounted system supported by a five-layer filling design that includes multiple sound-dampening materials. This combination helps deliver a more solid and refined typing sound while maintaining a balanced keystroke feel.
The keyboard comes pre-equipped with EPOMAKER’s newly developed Wisteria linear mechanical switches. These switches are built with a PC + PA66 shell and a POM + PTFE stem, delivering smooth keystrokes and a distinctive “Hi-Fi Mahjong” acoustic profile. The switches feature a 2.2mm actuation travel, a 3.6mm bottom-out distance, an actuation force of 45±5gf, and a bottoming force of 60gf. This configuration aims to balance responsiveness with comfort for both typing and gaming.

In terms of connectivity, the Split70 offers three modes: USB-C wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices, including PCs, laptops, and tablets. The keyboard operates at a 1000Hz polling rate for wired and wireless 2.4GHz connections, providing a responsive experience suitable for both casual and professional use.
Customization is supported through VIA and QMK, allowing users to modify key mappings, macros, and lighting effects. The keyboard also includes RGB lighting under each key, along with additional LEDs at the bottom that create a soft glow effect on the desk surface.
Powering the Split70 is a 3000mAh rechargeable battery, capable of delivering up to three to four weeks of use on a single charge, depending on lighting and usage conditions. The compact frame, combined with the detachable USB-C cable and wireless options, makes it convenient for both desktop setups and portable use.
Priced at $100 USD, the EPOMAKER Split70 offers a blend of ergonomics, durability, and versatility aimed at enthusiasts and professionals seeking a compact yet comfortable mechanical keyboard. The keyboard is now available through EPOMAKER’s official website and authorized online retailers.
