The Epic Games Store has updated its weekly free games lineup with two titles from the same franchise. PC users can now claim Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness, both available at no cost for a limited time. Once added, the games remain permanently tied to the user’s Epic Games account.
The offer includes the original Styx: Master of Shadows, released in 2014, and Styx: Shards of Darkness from 2017. Epic is also giving away the Deluxe Edition of Shards of Darkness, which includes additional content beyond the standard version. The promotion will remain active until Thursday, January 22, at 5 PM.
This giveaway comes ahead of the release of Styx: Blades of Greed, the next entry in the stealth-focused series. Publisher Nacon and developer Cyanide Studio have confirmed that the new game will launch on February 19, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. Making the earlier titles free gives new players a chance to experience the series before the upcoming release.
In addition to the Epic Games Store promotion, a limited-time demo for Styx: Blades of Greed was recently released on Steam. Early previews indicate that the new installment expands on the series’ core mechanics, with a stronger focus on vertical level design and player choice during missions.
Preview coverage highlights missions that allow players to approach objectives from multiple angles, using environmental traversal and stealth-based tactics. Closed-off areas with interconnected paths also support different strategies, whether relying on movement, tools, or environmental interactions rather than direct confrontation.
The Styx series has remained a consistent presence in the stealth genre, offering an alternative to more action-driven titles. With both earlier games currently free, PC players have a limited window to explore the franchise before Blades of Greed arrives later this year.
