Dareu Launches COOL68 Magnetic Switch Keyboard with 8K Polling Rate

Dareu has officially introduced the COOL68, a new mechanical keyboard equipped with magnetic switches and modern features designed for both performance and durability. The keyboard is available in three distinct color themes — Fire Orange, Cloud Blue, and Ice Rock Black — each paired with switch options to match user preferences.

The COOL68 follows a compact 68-key layout, a design that removes the number pad while retaining essential keys, making it suitable for desk setups where space efficiency is important. Measuring 329 x 111 x 44 mm and weighing around 740 grams, the keyboard aims to strike a balance between portability and a stable typing experience.

On the construction side, Dareu has equipped the COOL68 with a T-Gasket structure. This design is intended to provide a softer and more balanced key feel by reducing direct impact between the plate and the case. The keyboard offers two switch variants: Shadow Blade and Ice Blade magnetic switches. Both are based on magnetic sensing technology, allowing for precise actuation and durability compared to traditional mechanical switches. Users also benefit from full-key hybrid switch support, which ensures consistent responsiveness across all keys.

The keyboard is built with PBT keycaps, a material widely recognized for its resistance to wear, fading, and shine over time. This ensures that the keycaps retain their texture and legibility even after extended use. To enhance aesthetics, Dareu has included what it calls the “light-wing lightbox” system on both sides of the keyboard, adding subtle lighting effects that complement the overall design without overwhelming the layout.

In terms of performance, the COOL68 supports an 8,000 Hz polling rate when used in wired mode. This allows the keyboard to transmit input data at a much higher frequency than standard models, catering to users who require low latency and rapid response. The device also supports configuration through both app-based and web-based drivers, offering flexibility for customization such as key mapping and lighting adjustments.

At the time of launch, Dareu had not disclosed full details about the COOL68, including regional availability or pricing information. More specifications and release updates are expected to follow in the coming weeks.

The COOL68 joins Dareu’s expanding portfolio of gaming and productivity keyboards, further strengthening the company’s presence in the competitive mechanical keyboard market. With its compact form factor, magnetic switches, and support for high polling rates, the COOL68 is positioned as a versatile option for users seeking performance-oriented features in a smaller layout.
