Gameplay Improvements
First revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025, Code Vein II introduces expanded customization and new combat mechanics. The character creation system has been upgraded to allow fine adjustments to eyes, hair, scars, masks, and accessories, offering greater personalization options.

Combat adds new weapon types, including a bayonet that combines melee and ranged attacks with ammunition management. The bleed mechanic returns with more varied jail weapon categories, enabling different tactical strategies. Boss encounters are being designed with multiple phases and enhanced attack patterns to increase challenge variety.
Companions have also been reworked. In addition to fighting alongside the player, they can now be assimilated to provide passive abilities and unique powers. Lou, one of the companions, brings the ability to manipulate time, showcasing the range of character-specific skills.
Story and Exploration
The sequel builds its narrative around time travel, sending the protagonist and allies into the past in an effort to safeguard the future. Exploration introduces new interactive elements, such as unlocking areas through map-based objects and crafting consumables like flour for creating healing items and buffs.
With its January 2026 release, Code Vein II aims to deliver expanded gameplay systems, deeper customization, and a narrative focused on time-shifting events.
