Jez Corden, editor at Windows Central and a well-known industry insider, has reported that the first Call of Duty title for the Nintendo Switch 2 is almost complete. According to Cordon, the game is “nearly done” and expected to launch within the next few months, which would place its release in 2026. If accurate, this would be the first mainline Call of Duty entry to appear on a Nintendo system in over a decade.
At this stage, Microsoft and Activision have not confirmed the report. There has also been no official reference to the Nintendo Switch 2 in current Call of Duty Black Ops 7 promotions, raising questions about what version of the game will arrive on Nintendo’s next console. Some observers believe the Switch 2 release may differ from PlayStation and Xbox editions due to hardware and storage limits.
The expected performance of Call of Duty on Switch 2 remains a topic of discussion.
