Bloober Team has released a new gameplay trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn, its upcoming third-person action-adventure title. This follows the game’s initial reveal during Summer Game Fest 2025, where the studio gave players a first glimpse into the dark, time-bending world they’ve been developing.
Cronos: The New Dawn is set in a dystopian future where decaying architecture blends with advanced technology. The game places players in the role of a Traveler, an operative for a mysterious group known as the Collective. The mission centers around tracking time rifts that allow travel between a ruined future and 1980s-era Poland. Through these rifts, players must locate and recover the “Essences” of individuals who died before the apocalypse, using a device called the Harvester. Once retrieved, these Essences can aid the player in future encounters.
The newly released trailer expands on gameplay mechanics, emphasizing exploration, combat, and time-travel elements. It also introduces some of the grotesque enemies that populate the game’s future setting—creatures that appear to be twisted remnants of humanity. Players will need to rely on a combination of weapons and abilities to survive, hinting at a more action-focused experience compared to the developer’s previous narrative-heavy projects.
Bloober Team, known primarily for psychological horror titles such as Layers of Fear, Observer, and most recently the Silent Hill 2 remake in collaboration with Konami, seems to be shifting gears with Cronos: The New Dawn. The combat mechanics and environmental design in the latest footage suggest a broader gameplay scope and a more dynamic pacing than their earlier works.

The game is built using Unreal Engine 5, and early footage shows detailed lighting, expansive environments, and complex enemy designs. While technically ambitious, the use of Unreal Engine 5 has raised questions about performance. The Silent Hill 2 remake, also built on the same engine, was criticized at launch for performance issues on PC. Fans will be watching closely to see if Cronos launches in a more optimized state.
Alongside the trailer, Bloober Team has published the official PC system requirements for Cronos: The New Dawn. While the full specifications are available on the game’s official store page.
