Blackview has officially launched the Mega 12 tablet, adding a new large-screen option to its tablet portfolio. The device carries an IP69K water and dust resistance certification, which is commonly seen in industrial-grade electronics. However, despite this high ingress protection rating, Blackview does not market the Mega 12 as a fully rugged tablet, as it lacks reinforced corners or an internal shock-absorbing structure typically found in rugged designs.

The Blackview Mega 12 features a slim chassis measuring 280.2 × 194.2 × 8.2mm and weighs 690 grams. On the front, the tablet is equipped with a 12.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1600 × 2400 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which can help improve scrolling and on-screen motion. Maximum brightness is rated at 350 cd/m², placing it in line with other tablets in the same category. The display also supports Widevine L1 certification, allowing users to stream full HD content on platforms such as Netflix.

Under the hood, the Mega 12 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. The processor brings integrated 5G connectivity, enabling faster mobile data speeds where supported. Blackview has included a three-in-two SIM card slot, allowing users to choose between dual SIM functionality or a single SIM with microSD card expansion. This design provides flexibility for users who need additional storage or multiple network connections.
The tablet runs Android 16 out of the box and includes a PC mode feature. This mode enables windowed multitasking, offering a layout similar to a desktop environment, which may appeal to users who plan to use the tablet for productivity tasks such as document editing or multi-app workflows.

Blackview is offering the Mega 12 in multiple memory configurations, including 12GB and 16GB of RAM, paired with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. For photography and scanning needs, the tablet is equipped with a 50-megapixel rear camera. Power is supplied by a 10,000mAh battery, and the device supports 55W wired fast charging, which should help reduce downtime during daily use.
In overseas markets, pricing for the Blackview Mega 12 starts at $300. Availability and final pricing may vary depending on region and local retailers.
