AX Gaming Launches X3W MAX Graphics Card Lineup, Topping Out with GeForce RTX 5080

AX Gaming, a sub-brand under the Inno3D umbrella, has launched its new X3W MAX series of graphics cards, marking another step in the company’s expanding portfolio. These latest products come amid shifting trade regulations that have impacted the availability of high-end GPUs for board partners operating in China. As a result, the new X3W MAX range stops at the GeForce RTX 5080 level, bypassing NVIDIA’s forthcoming flagship Blackwell-based chips.

At the top of AX Gaming’s latest range is the GeForce RTX 5080 X3W MAX 16 GB, which represents the most powerful option currently available from the brand. TPU’s GPU database recently listed a non-MAX variant of the same card, featuring an identical triple-fan shroud design and similar white-themed aesthetics. However, the X3W MAX differentiates itself with a unique feature: a concealed power connector layout. This hidden power delivery design is paired with a custom L-shaped cable, aiming to streamline cable routing and improve overall case airflow.

The introduction of the hidden power design seems to follow a broader industry trend. Earlier today, Gigabyte unveiled its Stealth ICE series, which also appears to embrace low-profile, hidden cable configurations. Meanwhile, Sapphire’s recent Nitro+ refresh may have inspired elements of both product lines, particularly in terms of layout and design optimizations.

AX Gaming is not limiting the X3W MAX series to just one high-end model. Two additional SKUs have been revealed: the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti X3W MAX 16 GB and the GeForce RTX 5070 X3W MAX 12 GB. These provide lower-tier options within the same design language and thermal solution, maintaining the triple-fan setup and white-dominant color scheme.

Looking further ahead, AX Gaming may expand the MAX line with dual-fan models under the “X2W MAX” label. These would likely cater to the mainstream segment, potentially featuring the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060. No official confirmation has been provided yet, but this move would be in line with typical release patterns for custom board partners.

As NVIDIA’s RTX 5090D appears on the horizon in a trimmed-down configuration tailored for restricted markets, companies like AX Gaming are adjusting their product strategies accordingly. While global consumers may not see these models widely distributed, the X3W MAX lineup is expected to gain traction in domestic Chinese markets and through select export channels.

AX Gaming’s decision to focus on subtle design innovations like the hidden power connector, along with a uniform aesthetic across its range, reflects a growing interest in both visual appeal and practical improvements in GPU integration.
